My first football game (mostly tailgate party 😉🤪) at my alma mater since graduating...ahem...27 years ago. Something about having kids makes one want to share their past ( def not relive it). And of course to give him experiences and new adventures. Had a blast, lots of flashbacks, yet it all seems like a lifetime ago.
Where am I now? What’s happened in my 30ish years being a grownup? Many years of personal development and spiritual/inner work, almost 15 years running and racing in ultramarathons; birthing my one and only at 42. And now 50 and sharing what I’ve learned and lived. Keeping fit in new and different (50 yo single parent) ways, besides running 80-100 mile weeks.
Hey parents, what’s changed or stayed the same in your health, nutrition, and fitness pursuits since becoming a parent? Or on any other level that affects you and how much you feel like you?
I’ve accepted I won’t ever have my pre-baby body back. There’s no way. Nor am I the same person I was prior to pregnancy. Not entirely but I view the world, my immediate environment, my likes/dislikes, my time, and my relationships with a new eye. Expecting I’d go back to being the same is disrespecting the process of growing and birthing a human being, a body and being shift whose first stage was just under an entire year. The following stages, a lifetime of continued growth in depth and breadth including my love for this amazing human. Motherhood is NOT a loss of self at all.
