The Pilot | Fifa 20 | Video Game Lifestyle EP 1
So, this is the team I've taken into my first Weekend League of the season. My current streak is 3-4. In retrospect, this team and formation looks kinda off. But in-game, I switch to a very unconventional 3-5-2 formation.
My custom tactics have the 3 centre-backs (Davinson-Thiago-Meunier) further buffered on the wings with Robbo and Bobby. At first, this setup worked quite well; until I realised my opponents were attacking my right flank much more. Probably because they know I don't have much choice in putting Bobby there. So, after the 4 consecutive losses, I decided to sub in Ricardo Pereira at the start of the next match for Bobby (sorry dude). So far, not bad.
My midfield is quite congested. In my in-game formation switch, I have Gini and Rodri as my CDMs. For some reason, they tend to get themselves everywhere despite instructing them to stay back while attacking and only covering the centre. Jay-Jay tucks in as my lone CAM, and he is the main focal point for all of my attacks.
In attack, I have Juan Mata and Jamie Vardy. From the latest patch, I'm aware that the midfield can only have 4 people at any point in time. As such, I've instructed Vardy to stay forward (with Okocha) and to get in behind the opposition defence; while Mata becomes the hybrid box-to-box false 9. He comes back as a CM when defending, and he drives forward when attacking. It also helps that he has high agility, balance, dribbling and pace.
There you have it. I'm currently 3-4 so far. And as much as I've been having fun playing good opposition this year, I also aim to get to Gold 3 at least. Though, that's a mountain to climb given my current form going into my next session on Sunday.
