“Lets stop making excuses...I’m not hurt”
If Saquon is insisting that he’s healthy, maybe he’s just experiencing what most 2nd year players have to go through in professional sports: sophomore slump.
Who knows? He looked great at the beginning of this season before he got hurt and was bound to have a better year than last year.
Once he injured his ankle, he never been the same since. Obviously the fact that Saquon has to work with a poor offensive line doesn’t help... BUT our oline was poor last year also and Saquon managed to win the Offensive Rookie Of the Year award.
When I watch Saquon I don’t see the burst and shiftiness he had last year and the beginning of this year. I still think most of that has to due with his ankle but maybe part of that is just the fact that teams have tape of Saquon’s weaknesses and are taking advantage of that.
There’s a lot of great NFL players that had sophomore slumps and rebounded so if that’s the case, I’m not worried about him and I think it’s absolutely foolish if anyone thinks Saquon isn’t one of the top backs in the league anymore.
With 5 games left on the year, I’d love Saquon to go off and show why he’s the best in the game. But at the same time, I DONT want to risk anything long term... but we shall see.
