Could Pascal Siakam 'actually' win the Most Improved Award in back-to-back seasons?
Going off his first 11 games of the season, his case is well and truly alive. The Raptors forward has upped his scoring numbers by double-digits, now pouring in 27.2 points a night. That mark is good for the 8th highest PPG average so far and Toronto is thriving with Siakam steering the ship.
With Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka dealing with injuries, Siakam is being ably supported by Fred VanVleet right now, helping the Raps surge to an 8-3 record. However, the 4th year forward’s play has been the catalyst for their success and if Siakam can grow into a franchise calibre player then this team is well poised to keep contending throughout the next decade.
A healthy Lowry/Ibaka combo will help, but this Toronto team probably still needs to make some tweaks to annually contend. The way that Siakam is growing though, they won’t need to add too much around him. If he continues at this impressive pace, there’s no reason why Siakam couldn’t achieve something we thought was virtually impossible - claiming consecutive MIP trophies. ✌️#sportsbyfry
