Thanksgiving and pneumonia should not go hand in hand, but for this 41 year old asthmatic, they did.
While traveling to suburban Chicago with my husband the day before Thanksgiving, I began to feel ill. By Thanksgiving Day, I had nearly a 102 degree fever, chills, and a bronchial cough.
This photo was taken by my husband the day after Thanksgiving as I waited in the lobby of an urgent care clinic. I felt truly horrid at that moment; even the Prednisone and Z-Pac I was prescribed didn't fully end my cough and fatigue.
I'm home now, of course, and relatively recovered, but still constantly tired. Thankfully, the viral pneumonia did not become bacterial pneumonia (which would have been truly awful since I'm severely asthmatic). I've taken daily breathing treatments to keep my lungs strong.
Here's hoping my cough and fatigue end soon ... and that my Christmas holiday is filled only with good health.
