Our "Out of this World" Homecoming Week continues tomorrow with "Area 51 Day". Show your school spirit & dress up like an alien. No need to go the desert to hunt for aliens! The hallways of MVHS will be filled with creatures from the outer realms of the universe!
Physics and soccer collide to support student learning. Mr. Shapiro’s class is completing this lab to measure time intervals as the ball & player pass the check points every ten yards. The final race determines the best of the best. Student speed & skill are key as team participants race thirty yards and quickly reverse course for a final thirty yard push. The winner successfully brings the ball to a complete stop. Who do you believe deserves the crown for this class?
In Mr. Rodriguez’s Orchestra classes, handshakes serve as a team-builder and help to demonstrate the importance for team cohesion. Student string teams had 10 minutes to learn, teach and demonstrate their handshake. The exercise extended when students had to teach other groups their handshakes. The next great wave of Major Melodies are headed our way!
In just a few hours, the floor seats will be filled with graduates from the Mount Vernon High School Class of 2019, teachers, and staff. Seated throughout the Field House will be proud family and friends eager to congratulate the graduates. Congratulations again to those who will cross our stage this afternoon to begin the next phase of life! #ProudMajors
