This is likely one of the most important components in ensuring that you are getting the most out of your workout and reducing your risk of injury. . . . What is the purpose of warming up? - Going from a cold & sedentary form to an explosive and powerful form requires physiological changes. When warming up, one of the first things that happens is that blood flow increases to the muscles that are becoming active. What this means is as the muscles temperature goes up, the elasticity if the muscle increases as well which gives you a wider range of motion. Leg day... I am beginning to love it, rebuilding my strength and working with purpose is pretty darn satisfying. . Each session I am seeing strength gains and I am feeling more and more confident with the movements too. . ⚖️The weighing scale is NOT worth it 🧐.⁠ .⁠ The scale can be a great tool to help analyze your progress - whether you are training to lose fat or build muscle. But a lot of people are using the scale all wrong & feeling emotional highs/lows by a single incomplete number. ⁠ .⁠ The scale CAN measure✅:⁠ 💡Your bodyweight & effect on gravity.⁠ 💡It can be used as an objective marker of progress (to be used WITH progress photos, measurements).⁠ .⁠ What the scale can NOT ❌ measure:⁠ 💡Your worth.⁠ 💡Your only source of progress.⁠ 💡Your dedication.⁠ 💡Your health.⁠ 💡Changes in body composition (in which you may lose fat & build muscle together).⁠ .⁠ .⁠ It’s so important to note that your body weight fluctuates daily (it can fluctuate from 1-5lbs based on changes in sodium intake, stress (cortisol increases water retention), fluid intake, bowel movements, lack of sleep, hard workouts, etc). Hence if you weigh yourself daily, you will always seek a "reason" why it went up or down on that day & tie all your emotions to it. Even after 3 years of pursuing mindful health, I feel a twinge when I see a slight increase from yesterday's weight. ⁠ .⁠ .⁠ I measure my progress with before/after photos, body composition scans (done monthly - DXA or In-body), changes in my strength & energy 🌈, how my clothes fit & the happiness in my mind 🧠!.⁠ .⁠ .⁠ It is SO hard to build & sustain happiness in your mind, don't let a stupid device (YES stupid ) ruin it all. What I took away from it was being mentally strong enough to hold ourselves up when it was so difficult and uncomfortable is the same grit we need to keep ourselves going in the tough moments in our lives. Week 2 of the winter series has been a bit of a gong show, my workouts have been at all different times of the day, and I switched a whole bunch around, and also did some at home. I have a really sick child and I have never in my life felt so helpless. Hospital visits, IV’s and chest X-rays, and fevers as high as 105.9 My heart hurts my anxiety is so high all the time and getting my workouts and ringette is the only things keeping me sane right now. Praying for rest and healing.

Day 8 • Realized I totally forgot to post on Saturday after my workout. Did 15 minute workout on the bike and 30 mins on the Elliptical. 2.77 miles and burned 352 calories. ⠀ Hazlo por ti y para ti. ⠀ 8 meses de disciplina, paciencia, esfuerzo, sacrificio, priorizando mis horas de sueño, teniendo en cuenta que mi cuerpo es mi templo y que lo que le doy es lo que va a reflejar, amando cada imperfección y sintiéndome más segura de mi misma. ⠀ No fue fácil dejar de comer comida chatarra, rechazar salidas con amigas por querer dormir, no pasar malas noches y por supuesto para no tener la tentación del alcohol.😅 ¿Pero sabes qué? Todo eso fue lo mejor que me pudo pasar porque me di cuenta de que mi cuerpo no lo necesita para sobrevivir. ⠀ Recuerdo que pasaba horas leyendo, capacitándome sobre este estilo de vida que me estaba dando tan buenos resultados hasta que me enamoré totalmente del hecho de que si no te amas y te cuidas tú no puedes trasmitir amor a otros. ⠀ Trabajando para mi y solo por mi, ponle fecha a un sueño y lo convertirás en una meta. Una meta dividida en pasos se convierte en un plan y un plan apoyado en acciones se vuelve realidad. ⠀ No es fácil pero tampoco imposible, en cada paso que di gracias a Dios tuve el apoyo de personas que me dieron el aliento para continuar, entre ellas @sandy_arsenic que fue uno de mis pilares en mis inicios, lo cual se lo agradezco muchísimo. Gracias a su forma de asesinarme en los entrenamientos 😂🤣 y de comerme a boches diciéndome floja 😂 pues esos fueron impulsos. Imam Hussain refused to do so in order to save the society from a cruel monarch. Therefore Yazid equipped his army to kill Hussain and his family . Yazid's army besieged Hussain and his family members in Karbala desert in Iraq .The army didn't let them drink water for 3 days. But Hussain, his beloved brother Abbas and his companions didn't surrender and kept fighting while they were thirsty. They were all martyred but their resistance disclosed the real face of Yazid and defeated him finally. We still mourn and commemorate them after 1400 years. because Imam Hussain and his 72 companions were brave men who fought evil for justice .Brave men belong to all times and all ages.
